These moments, thoughts, dreams, realisations, are just sketches in time, from the mind of a young man with many ideas, but limited playing ability. They were for my ears only, to capture and remember song fragments, to allow me to build them up, try middle eights, harmonies etc. and eventually, present to whomever I was working with. A few were demoed with a friend or two that I was likely in a band with at that time.

The major problem I have always had is, supply outstrips demand. I have tens of dozens of songs that languished, gathering dust and over the last couple of years, after straying past the cassettes, I thought I would digitise them, mainly, so I had a way of listening to them. I know the world isn't waiting for them, but there might be a few kindred spirits out there, that enjoy lo-fi demos, and can appreciate some of the melodies captured here.

Being sketch ideas, recorded to cassettes, without computers, or click tracks or any such fancy help, there are wayward vocals and timings, but I wear that badge with pride, as birthing songs can be a vociferal experience, and often the idea might not have landed in a register best suited for my larynx.

To try and aid navigation, I have split tracks into three categories:

1, ideas (embryonic, recorded at moment of conception)
2, sketches (the ideas polished into a song structure)
3, songs - noted with capital naming (ready to present to 'the band')

The pricing of this set, is to dissuade people from downloading, as you can stream the songs here for free. If you do happen to think it worth paying for, then why not.

A note on songs which have been left out. Cover versions require licensing to be included on bandcamp, which isn't something I have had the time yet to look into, but as a note of which songs they were, that may one day be included:
