Suddenly Summer (Aug 1996)

from My Life In Headphones - Demo Scrapbook by Christy

about

A light very simple pop song. I don't recall ever playing the demo to the band at the time but I'd probably have thought it would've been instantly dismissed as to soft. It's one that often popped into my mind through the years and in 2010, when we got some drum mics, I recorded it so I could get Nathan to test them out. I think that makes this the first recording of drums at MHM HQ though funnily we have released numerous recordings since then using the set-up, but I've finally mixed a version of Suddenly Summer and here it is, suddenly.
Note: The only real addition to the original demo is the mellotron, which I am still unsure if I like. I think I got so use to the stark demo that any dressing sounds like clutter. There aren't any electric guitars even.
